CSE Magazine Acquisition & Rebrand
2019-2022
This project began when an existing marketing client, dissatisfied with their publication’s previous publisher, sought a change. The production was brought in-house under my leadership with my manager’s guidance, resulting in increased readership and enhanced brand presence. We produced multiple issues before executing a full rebrand, aligning the magazine with the client’s evolving identity, introducing strategic elements like editorial calendars, media kits, and email newsletters. This initiative garnered significant positive feedback and became a cornerstone of ongoing client engagement. As someone relatively new to the role at the time, this project was both an exhilarating challenge and a proud milestone in my career.

My role was pivotal in securing and executing this project, as I led major departments to ensure its success. In art direction and design, I finalized the editorial lineup with the team, aligned ad inventory, created the flatplan, and designed every layout to deliver a polished product that exceeded client expectations. As project lead, I created a comprehensive work breakdown structure, detailing every task, milestone, dependency, and role while coordinating with external editors, internal copy teams, and the editor-in-chief, while managing print production, soft proofs, and deadlines. In advertising, I built a system from scratch, collaborating with my manager to shape the editorial mandate and calendar, define readership, and develop a compelling media kit for advertisers.

One of the cover arts I designed while the magazine was still branded as Public Entrepreneur. Unfortunately, I had to work with this logo from the previous publisher, which was notably stretched and bothersome.
